We are a registered charity, founded in 1921 as the Earl Haig Fund Scotland, by Field Marshal Earl Haig, to provide practical help in time of need to all ex-Servicemen, women and their dependants.

Poppyscotland supports veterans and their dependants in Scotland through the help of dedicated volunteers and donors. All money raised is spent in the following ways:

  • Providing direct financial assistance to individuals

  • Funding a pensions advice service for veterans

  • Providing grants and research to organisations that deliver specialist support to veterans in Scotland

  • Supporting the employment of veterans with disabilities in the Edinburgh-based Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory

  • We are probably best known for organising the annual Scottish Poppy Appeal, which raised a record £1.5 million in 2006. We provide year-round support to the ex-Service community in need and because of the increasing demands on our resources we organise many events and activities throughout the year.

We are a registered charity, founded in 1921 as the Earl Haig Fund Scotland, by Field Marshal Earl Haig, to provide practical help in time of need to all ex-Servicemen, women and their dependants.

In 2006 we launched a new identity – Poppyscotland, to help with easier identification of our round the year work in fundraising and support to veterans. The Earl Haig Fund Scotland has not disappeared – it remains our legally-registered name.
